I can't wait to make one for my daughters first year.  This marks off one of my GOALS

Just Me?

Is it just me or does everyone feel discouraged about goals sometimes?  I started a goal list in February of 2010 called Allies 101 things in 1001 days.  Seems like a long time to get 101 goals done right? Wrong.  I am feeling super discouraged.  I have only completed 34 of my 101 goals.  I have until November 7 of 2012.  That is less than a year and sadly enough, most of these goals I haven't even started yet.  I know that I need to do them and get off my pity party for myself but at the same time I am so discouraged.  How do you overcome your own self discouragement?  Do you feel overwhelmed when you don't complete goals on time?  Please give me some encouraging thoughts to keep pushing forward and complete my goals on time.

Give Thanks

My friend and I got together and made a Thanksgiving decoration. She had no decorations and I thought we could make some for fun.

This is one of the things we made, tonight...literally just in time to decorate her table for Thanksgiving.

I love the colors that we chose. Fall is my favorite season and it is so hard living in Utah because a lot of the time I feel like it is skipped over. There is just something about oranges, browns, creams, and reds coming together that makes me smile.

If you want to make your own (maybe for next year) this is what you will need:

2- 6 inch 2x4's
2- 5 inch 2x4's
2- 4 inch 2x4's
1- 7 inch 2x2

wood
stain
vinyl
craft paper
brown ink
mod podge

Alphabet Rocks

I've seen a lot of Alphabet rocks all over the blogging land but recently decided to make my own.  I recently joined Pinterest.  You can follow me here if you would like.  I used pinterest to pin the rocks so that I wouldn't forget to make them.  My family went to a cabin with friends and I thought it would be really fun to make them there.  You could use river rocks, which you can buy at pretty much any craft store, but I just used plain old rocks from the mountains.  I collected 52 of them.  I did upper and lower case letters, one letter on each rock (I've also seen them with upper on one side and lower case on the other).  I painted the letters on and then traced them with a marker and covered them with clear nail polish so that they would not chip.  We played with these all weekend.  My son loved to pick things to learn how to spell.  He also loved to put them in colors, organize them from A to Z, and match lowercase and uppercase.
